Image
I had the privilege of teaming up with some amazing women for a holistic gift guide this Christmas! Christmas is less than 2 weeks away - but if you're still searching for a gift for a naturally-minded friend in your life - I've got you! Read on for a few simple gift ideas. These are a few of my absolute favorite items. Click the highlighted link for fast viewing! 1.  INSTANT POT  Are you even surprised by this one?! I have been recommending this gift idea for the past 3 years. I have had my Instant Pot since November 2016 and I STILL use it almost daily! As a mom of two little ones it saves me so much time. Bone broth is done in less than 2 hours. Meat can go from frozen solid to deliciously cooked in 30 mins. It may seem complicated or intimidating to operate, but I promise you - it is not! For those of you who have purchased one or choose to purchase one - I also offer "Instant Pot 101" classes through Willmar Community Ed. Look for my upcoming class in January 2

Every New Beginning

Every New Beginning Comes From Some Other Beginning's End I always have good intentions of keeping up with my blog but life gets the best of me. Its January 1st, 2018, and it's a Monday - so I'm telling myself there's  no better time to hop back on the horse than right now! Naturally, I'm not sure where to start or what I Want to write about for this blog, so it will likely be my jumbled thoughts about life, and maybe a slight update from the past year - so that I can read it again in the future. Essentially- this post if for myself, but if you find yourself reading it - I hope you enjoy! It's -20 degrees out, maybe worse then that - I stopped looking. Every year at this time of year my husband and I contemplate moving to a warmer climate. Staying indoors with a toddler is NOT ideal! Today, Ezra looking outside and said "Want to play digger in snowman" (he calls the "snow" "snowman" ....I haven't corrected him because it'

Grab N' Go Breakfast Ideas

Image
((This blog contains affiliate links to another website)) Sometimes I catch myself falling into a rut when it comes to breakfast....er...ALL meals. Before I know it - we are eating eggs every day for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and by the time supper rolls around - nothing is planned - and we tend to eat out or throw a pizza in the oven. I've been trying to be more intentional about using the food and produce that I have on hand at home - before we blow our budget and waist line and go out to eat! Here are some of my favorite breakfast ideas that may take a small prep- but all end up being simple grab-and-go meals that the whole family (yes, toddlers and husbands too) will enjoy! Breakfast Ideas Fruit - so simple. so delicious. Berries, bananas, melons, oranges.....be creative!  Fruit and Yogurt Parfait -  we love dairy free yogurt! I usually add 1/2 cup yogurt into a bowl, toss blueberries and strawberries in, and add coconut flakes, honey or maple syrup, hem

If you're anything like me, you maybe struggle from time to time to find FAST, EASY, NOURISHING recipes that the whole family will enjoy. Personally - I can eat something that doesn't taste that great if I know it has nutritional benefits. My toddler and husband? Not so much.. This recipe, however, was SO fast and easy - and the entire family scarfed it down. 16 month old, AND husband. I will list how to make this recipe step by step, and attach a link to everything I purchased. All you have to do is click the links, and it will bring you right there so that you can check it out for yourself! I mostly followed Dr. Axe's recipe from his book,  Bone Broth Breakthrough . I highly recommend this book. He mentions the healing powers of bone broth, TONS of recipes to make, as well as a few nutritional guides and challenges to try out! Definitely worth the money. I cooked this recipe in my  Instant Pot . If you don't have one yet - you quite honestly NEED one

Why You NEED Bulletproof Coffee

Image
Bulletproof coffee. Have you heard of it? I remember the first time I ever heard someone suggest I put butter in my coffee. And then blend it. Yes. You heard that correctly. BUTTER. Bleh. Butter isn't even good for you, right? WRONG. So wrong. I was so wrong for so long, and I didn't even know it. But here's the thing; Butter, grass-fed butter, totally rocks. It's full of healthy fats!!! Great for your teeth and body overall. Should you consume it in huge amounts? Probably not. Should you consume a teaspoon of it in your coffee? Definitely. Do I add more than a teaspoon into my coffee at times? Highly likely. Do I care? Nope. I'm going to give you my personal recipe at the end, but first - I'm going to tell you a secret. I sort of avoided fats my whole life because I was under the impression that eating fat (healthy fat) made you...well....fat. I didn't understand. Your body actually NEEDS fat. A few months ago, I totally embr
