The Next Chapter

You are the author of your life story. Every day, you start with a blank page and you get to decide how that day will get played out. Will it be a positive day? Maybe it's an unexpected day with 10 inches of snow and a car stuck in the driveway. Maybe it's a day full of joy and laughter. Or sometimes - it's a day of sadness. But each day - we get to live out our destiny. Are the things you do each day, think about each day, or see each day helping to get you closer to where you want to be or who you want to be in the future? I have decided that I want to fill my life story with passion and positivity. Sure -  I have negative times too. And sometimes the passion inside of me feels as though it has been snuffed out. But for the most part - I want to be a light to those around me. This is why I am a personal trainer and a group fitness instructor. It allows my creativity, passion, and positivity to beautifully come together into one. So when I wake up in the morning to a blank page, I try to absolutely fill it with the most delightful things possible.

Sometimes.....it goes the opposite way....

In order to be positive - you must cut out the negative, right?

Let's look at this a different way. Say I reallllly really want to get healthy, eat better, and lose weight. So I decide to go grocery shopping. And I fill my pantry with cookies, my cupboard with chips, my freezer with gelato, and my fridge with beer. I'm not giving myself a very good opportunity to be successful, am I?

This applies to our lives, as well. Sometimes we feel bad about cutting negative things out of our lives - but we certainly don't have to. Whether it be a toxic relationship, negative friendship, depressing job - DON'T. FEEL.GUILTY. just get it out of your life. The sooner - the better. Honestly. The negative things will pull you down over time whether you want them to or not.

This gets me to my main point. A chapter in my life is coming to a close. My time at The Y has unfortunately come to an end. If you would like to know the situation - you can feel free to ask. My life is an open book, really. ;) For the past year and a half - the Y has been a huge chapter in my story. I would say more - but I am trying to keep things positive! I have met so many people and made lots of long lasting friendships through The Y and if you are reading this and you're a member - know that I will miss you!!!! You all have a very special place in my heart.

This chapter is ending, but my story is just beginning.

Really.

I could go on and on about the lovely people that God has placed in my life lately to lift me up. I am thankful for the mentors, encouragers, friends, and listeners that have been there for me the past few weeks! You all have made more of an impact on my life than you know. When this situation first happened, I was so upset, frustrated, hurt, etc. but now, thanks to all of you, I realize that God had bigger plans for my life than my small mind could ever imagine.

I can't wait to see what's next.

"There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind."

Be you. Be brave. Be a light.
