Top 10 Gifts for the Health Seeker in YOUR Life!
Health and wellness...it's all around you! You may be into it all, or may be avoiding it all, but you likely have a health conscious friend or family member in your life that you'd enjoy buying a gift for. Or maybe you need a gift idea to treat yourself or give out to a family member this holiday season! Not sure where to start? Read below!
1. Himalayan Salt Lamp. This is actually a great gift idea for ANYONE in your life, whether they are health conscious or not. Salt lamps have many natural health benefits, their main ones being that the negative ions that the salt produces (released by heating) can BOOST blood flow, improve sleep, increase levels of serotonin in the brain, calm allergy and asthma symptoms, and so much more! Not to mention - it looks pretty cool, too. Guests in your home will benefit from it's awesomeness and health benefits as well! Interested? See more by clicking here.
2. Epsom Salt. The uses are quite honestly endless. In water - epsom salt breaks down into magnesium and sulfate. My personal favorite way to use epsom salt is to mix it with essential oils and sometimes baking soda to soak in the tub. Using epsom salt this way can help relax sore muscles, gently detox your body, and add magnesium into your body - through your skin. It works fabulous as a foot soak as well! Other uses for epsom salt include cleaning, adding volume to dull hair, regulating blood sugar, relieving constipation, soothing sprains and bruises, and so much more! I usually purchase this brand, but Dr. Teals has some great pre-mixed ones, as well, that smell delightful! Check them out!
3. Coconut oil. Yes. Really. It may seem like a weird gift, but the health nut in your life probably goes through this stuff like crazy! When ordering online, I generally purchase this one, but I am a big fan of the HUGE tub at Costco, too. Make sure it is organic, and unrefined.
4. Apple Watch. My husband has been hounding me to buy one of these for him for probably a year. Will he get one this year? Likely, no. (Sorry, honey). But these truly are a great option for ANYONE in your life, but someone looking to get healthy or already into fitness would truly love it. Besides telling time (yes, I tried to talk him out of it by telling him he has a PHONE and OTHER WATCHES that tell time), it also tracks your steps, heart rate, distance, pace, and much more. Your texts and messages from your phone will come through on it, and you can listen to music (win win). Check it out here if you are looking for a high end gift for a health nut in your life!
5. Instant Pot. Guys - this is my ALL TIME FAVORITE THING. I purchased my first one about 6 months ago on Amazon Prime day and have used it almost every single day since purchasing it. Besides cooking basically anything and everything - it also cooks things EXTREMELY fast. My first thought was "I bet all the nutrients are cooked out of it, then.." ...WRONG! The Instant Pot uses high pressure to cook the food, and KEEPS the nutrients IN THE FOOD! It's amazing. So far I have cooked apple sauce, cheesecake (oops), popcorn, hard boiled eggs, bone broth, soups, chili, chicken, beef, steamed all sorts of veggies, potatoes (10 mins - skin falls right off), squash (15 mins - skin slides off), yogurt, and so much more! If you still do not have one of these yet - I HIGHLY recommend it. I'm not sure how the Instant Pot didn't make number 1 on my list (mom brain) but it is definitely number 1 in my book! Check out this magical unicorn kitchen appliance by clicking right here.
6. Yoga mat, foam roller, dumbbells. Each of these individually serve many purposes. Purchase all of them together and you basically have a home gym. Yoga mats are fabulous for stretching on, planking, ab exercises and meditating. Foam rollers are absolutely amazing at breaking up tight fascia, and stretching muscles so that your body can heal and regrow keeping your body limber and ready for your next exercise session! I prefer the 18 inch size because it is easy to throw in my car and bring with me to the gym, if I want. Dumbbells give you access to HUNDREDS of muscle building exercises. From bicep curls to squats and everything in between, dumbbells are an amazing tool to help you get healthy or keep you focused on your goals.
7. Protein Powder. There are many different kinds of protein powder on the market, and it can be completely overwhelming to shop for some! I have tried MANY different kinds throughout the years, but for the past year or so - this has been my absolute favorite. I love it because it has greens mixed in with it but it doesn't taste disgusting. Actually - it tastes delicious! My husband even approves, and he is super picky about his protein powder. Garden of Life Protein & Greens also includes many enzymes, nutrients, probiotics, vitamins, and more. It doesn't have a nasty aftertaste, either. We drink it almost daily.
8. Water Bottle. Whether trying to increase your water intake or needing a bottle to bring with you to gym or work - this is my personal favorite. A few years ago I realized that water tastes different out of glass than it does out of plastic, and I've never gone back. We donated all our plastic bottles and cups in our house and now only use glass. The LifeFactory bottles have many different options to suit your preferences. They offer many different sizes...they even have baby bottles, and they are adorable. Ezra loved them. They also offer different drinking options. Straw top, flip cap, twist top! Choose your favorite! Buy one for you AND your gym buddy!
9. Chaga Coffee. Yep. Mushroom coffee. The first time I heard that term I nearly gagged. While I have been working on increasing the types of foods I eat - I still HATE coffee. Not too long ago, I found out that when I drink a lot of coffee, or caffeine in general, I really don't feel that great. It's a huge bummer, because I was/am a coffee addict. Don't get me wrong - I still drink it - more than I am willing to admit - but this stuff gets me by on the days I am craving coffee but would also like to save myself from the splitting headache. How does it taste? Delicious. It's not 100% similar to a regular coffee taste, but it's not far off, either. Your body will appreciate the health benefits from it.
10. Essential Oils. Again with this one, there are many, MANY different places you can buy from. I would suggest doing your research ahead of time. If you have a friend who sells oils - you may want to purchase from them to support their business. I have become a huge fan of Plant Therapy. My family uses and diffuses them like they are going out of style. I have had great customer service with them, great prices, and I love that they offer many organic options! Essential oils can be used for cooking, cleaning, or maintaining health in general through aromatic or topical use. Lavender, lemon, tea tree, eucalyptus and peppermint are great options to start with, as they are extremely versatile!
After much thinking (maybe 5 mins) I have decided to add ONE MORE FAVORITE GIFT! Because it's THAT important.
11. Berkey Water Filter This water filter is truly amazing. For years, my husband and I had Culligan water jugs delivered to our house. One day - we got a big too feisty removing a water jug and broke our 10 year old water machine. Our options were to buy a new one OR look at different options in a similar price range. We came across the Berkey Water Filter. To sum it up - here's why we LOVE it. It's a coutertop water filter. This means its extremely portable if you move to a different house or location - you can easily bring it with you. It removes contaminants (think parasites and bacteria). It removes 95% of fluoride and arsenic (huge WIN!). It is operated using gravity....no need for electricity = saving $$$! It's extremely economical! We will never go back to hauling around those obnoxiously heavy and clumsy water jugs..Berkey is our BFF! I'm sure you, or someone on your list would LOVE the gift of fresh, clean, water!
Hopefully by reading this you have come across some great ideas for your friends or family, or even for yourself! I know I personally struggle with finding the "perfect gift" for people, but with these options, you can't go wrong! Happy shopping!
